Is that the palace that we beat the other week and who have 11points, the same as us

Sorry but that was definitely a penalty. What was Nortveit thinking?

I thought we played well at times and don't think there is much between those starting elevens.

The major problem is obviously the recruitment strategy in the summer. All those risk free loans and free transfers are not the way to improve a squad particularly for a club who have just added twenty thousand season ticket holders.

That said I can't think of many examples when sitting in and inviting pressure has ever worked. The Payet substitution was beyond stupid and allowed them to push twenty yards further up the pitch removing any need for defensive responsibility. The blame for this clearly lays at Slavs door along with Zaza and Tore. A palace fan was taking the piss out of me the other day for signing these two where'd had first dibs on Townsend and Benteke.

It was a clear penalty no doubt about it. All their goals were from individual errors, Ogbonna losing the ball unnecessarily, Randolph for the second and Nordveit for the third. I thought we were going to get a third rather than them score tbh.

Without the trip Son still is able to take the ball. If it was the otherway and given you would be happy. If it wasn't given it would be analysed over and over by pundits and on here.

The moment he left the floor and lost control of his actions there was always a chance a pen could be given.

Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham - Official Match Thread 3-2 FT
His trailing leg may have made contact but its not a foul, he did not have control of the ball. Mike dean could not wait to give the penalty and your right we should be smarter then that to get ourselves in these positions. If getting contact in the box is the new standard for getting penalties, then our league is no better than the rest of the continent.

Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham - Official Match Thread 3-2 FT
I'm against cheats like Valencia throwing themselves over when an arm brushes against him as in Man Utd's game but this was Nordviedt sliding into the player when he should be standing up and defending.
Speaking of the Man U game Darmian who had been booked put his studs through Jenkinsons ankle when he launched himself at him. No 2nd card. WE seem to be suffering from refs who can't wait to find a second yellow.

Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham - Official Match Thread 3-2 FT
His trailing leg took out the player. It isn't the oppositions job to jump out of the way of tackles to avoid being tripped, especially in the box.

It's a penalty all day long and the challenge was beyond stupid. If you think the Spurs player conned the ref then why did our player allow him to?

It was soft but still a pen. Noddy is a dick for going to ground.

Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham - Official Match Thread 3-2 FT
Sven, im fucking sick of all this contact is a penalty bollocks. Dangling a leg out to try and get contact should not be a foul. u should atleast have control of the ball and looking to play it, it was the same a few seasons ago with kane, slight contact fall to the floor. We criticise over dramatics in europe for falling over under next to no contact yet we say its unacceptable, so why is it acceptable now? Your right it wont change the result, but im sick of the inconsistencies, cresswell vs. palace was more of a penalty then that, at least he had control of the ball

What's this professional foul stuff , hopper?
It was a foul and a pen.
Nordviedt stupidly didn't stay on his feet and slid in. Son saw him coming and took the contact. Pen all day long.
Move on

Re: ⚽ Tottenham v West Ham - Official Match Thread 3-2 FT
The worst part of yesterday was the way in which we lost. i dont blame nordveit, i am more disgusted that tottenham always con these referees into penalties, if that was at our end we would not get the decision and even then i would not think it was a penalty. U cant be awarded a penalty when you are not professionally fouling the player, contact is not a professional foul. Zaza is useless and the blame must be with the board for those decisions.

I didn't see any of the game and am refusing to watch the highlights but it sounds like a well deserved (i.e. self inflicted) defeat.

I would guess that we couldn't keep the ball for more than 10 seconds at a time.

Personally with better squad players not sure this would have been an issue. Payet was clearly shattered and was doing nothing so can't blame Bilic for taking him off. The problem is who he was replaced by. Take a look at the bench yesterday and it goes to show how weak our squad is.

Sakho was ways going to play an hour or so but that Payet sub was ridiculous.
They could not over commit as we had a real threat on the break but as soon as we made that sub we basically said to spurs we arent coming out of our half now so they chucked it all at us and as usual we collapsed.

Spot on there, shook my head and saId no to me son, thought totally the wrong call when Bilic made the substitution.

Payet was holding the ball and making simple lay offs, and looking to break at pace when we had the chance. Once he was taken off, the only outlet was to play it long to Zaza.

As Bilic was insistent on bringing on Nordtveit as extra defensive cover, then maybe it should have been for Lanzini as was already on a booking.

Id love to know what all these people see in Fletcher to convince them he was the one that should of come on because its a different player to what I've seen, he looks as equally as shit as the rest of our strikers.

Zaza on instead of fletcher was also ridiculous, its like Bilic is desperate for him to do something to show he was not a complete pile of cunt signing that he is. Fletcher has always offered abit more than him when played.

Not saying we would of still won the game but his tactical substitutions are hurting us badly
